Cookbook Review 175 Best Babycakes Cupcake Maker
Recipes Easy Recipes for Bite-size Cupcakes & More!

When I first saw the title of this new cookbook
"175 Best Babycakes Cupcake Maker Recipes: Easy Recipes
for Bite-size Cupcakes & More!" it was like it
just jumped out at me shouting pick me, pick me! I guess

that's because my favorite food in the whole array of

gourmet foods is a mere mortal cupcake. So baby sized

cakes was so inviting to me. The cover art on this

cookbook is beautifully done with it's enormously

frosted cupcakes in pastel pink. The piped creations are

really going to lure you inside when you see them with

their swirly curly tops.

What's in there waiting when you get past the juicy

softback cover? Oh just a little of what I like to

think of as magic-which is how I refer to the cupcake
maker appliance. I need to get me a second one of these

since the recipes are for double batches most of the

time. I did make several of the recipes though in my normal
cupcake baking equipment. I'm now going to have to get

one of these special cupcake making machines to have the

true babycakes experience for myself. I noticed on

Amazon that the authors of this cookbook also wrote the

recipe pamphlet that comes with the Babycakes Machine

how great is that?

Some of the goodies inside:

Bite-Size Cupcakes,Tarts
Cheesecakes & mini's
Christmas Chocolate cupcakes
Snowball Cupcakes
Champagne Cupcakes

You can find this cookbook filled with baking gems here:

My favorite recipe from the book is the Pineapple

Cupcakes because when you bake pineapples the fruit

takes on a brand new sweet sensation that is incredible

so roasting pineapple is a very good thing.
If you are wanting to impress some of your friends have

a cupcake making party and let the kids help too. It's

so much fun making almost instant babycakes and piping

them just how you want them. I'm a the more sprinkles

and designs the better kind of a girl so this is right

up my alley. I did also make the Southern Country Biscuits and they

were great tasting. You do have to remember to turn them

halfway thru so set your kitchen timer or you'll have a
sad turnout. The Marshmallow Frosting recipe is to die

for, it is so sweetly divine. I dabbed it on mine

sparingly since I'm diabetic and it was really good like

a gourmet cupcake shop would serve. I usually just put

marshmallow creme by itself as my cupcake topper of

choice since it's a fat free product but a change was

good.

Since it's Holiday time the next ones up to bat are

going to be the Gingerbread Cupcakes which I love to

have sitting around at Christmas time. One of the lower

fat recipes was the Honey Nut Muffins and they are

simply deliscious and no need for any frosting which is
great. Honey and nuts are both good for you products so

I would highly recommend you try that recipe to start.
The Cinnamon Toast Cups are nice for breakfast or any

time of day treats. I really think the whole family

loved those the most as I had to make several batches
as everyone kept wanting a 3rd and 4th one.
Speaking as a mom who adores her kitchen gadgets and

baking I can say that if you have someone on your

shopping list that loves to bake or just wants to get

their feet wet-this would be the book to get them

motivated.

On the back of this book it says that Babycakes proves

that the best things do come in small packages and I

wholeheartedly agree with that. Life's little pleasures
is what it's all about.

Marzetti Carmel Dip with Giveaway

I LOVE Caramel dip! You know the kind that goes over the top of apples. It is sooooo my weakness (well one of them anyway.) I am also a big fan of Marzetti Dips. It is simply a brand htat I trust. When I was given the chance to review the dip I jumped on it. I did run into one tiny problem though. I went to five different stores in my area when I received my coupon and NOT a single one of them had the caramel dip. All I could think is "What the heck?"  I mean really, what is up with that?

From Marzetti Website:

"We will start a new place and serve good food. At a profit if we can, at a loss if we must, but we will serve good food."

With this short notation on a scrap of paper, Teresa Marzetti set the tone for the company that bears her name. It all began in 1896 when young Teresa Marzetti arrived in the United States from Florence, Italy, and started her small Italian restaurant in Columbus, Ohio.Marzetti's became a local favorite especially among Ohio State University students, and grew to become a four star restaurant and one of the finest dining experiences in the Midwest.Customers particularly enjoyed Teresa's Creamy Coleslaw and French dressings, and were often seen leaving the restaurant with bottles of their freshly made favorites. By 1955, the dressings had become so renowned that the upstairs kitchen of the restaurant became a full-scale factory. Thus the Marzetti brand of salad dressings found its way into grocery stores throughout Ohio.

My First Hands-On Bible

As you all know I have been a journey of faith for most of the year, something that has been tested and will be taking a radical change soon. I wanted my children to understand the Bible as well. To understand why I pray and what they can and should pray about. There are a million children's bibles out on the market and I haven't really found one that I like. I have searching for one that uses actual bible text while explaining things in a way they will understand. I have know found one such book.

The book is My First Hands-On Bible  ($16.99) from Tyndale Publications. The book uses the New Living Translation of the bible and uses actual text. This, in my opinion, is a great bible for kids. Aside from just the actual bible test there are a few other features such as Hands-on Activities, Time to Pray, and the Jesus Connection.

As you and your children begin reading this bible you will notice that there are small hand prints throughout. These are the Hand-on Activities that you can either do right away or come back and do at a later pace. This is perfect for preschoolers who sometimes need to actual do, touch, and feel to understand things. At the end of each passage there is a prayer (Time to Pray) as well as some other activities like Let's Talk. They are all designed to help your child understand the passage they read.  The book does jump a little but that is to be expected with a children's bible. For example you go from Genesis 3:1-7 to Genesis 7:11-20. It cuts out all the "begots" that children won't understand anyway.

My children loved this bible. Victoria enjoyed the activities. She said she felt like she really understood the bible more now than she ever did before. Daniel who is older said that even though it is a kids bible he still thought he got more from it than his regular bible and that the pictures were really great. I like it so much that I will be using it in our lesson plans and will be sharing more of the activities with all of you over the course of the next year. This is the first bible that my children have ever wanted to sit down and read, without my having to force it on them. My only issue is that it is only available in English. I would have loved for it to be in Spanish as well.

As a blogger needing images is a constant issue. Most companies allow me to use images from their sites but then I have to find my own images for personal posts, events, and other posts. There are tons of sites to find and purchase stock photos with the proper usage licenses. I recently discovered Depositphotos. I was given a free ten day subscription to download images and use them.

As you all know I love to use not only photo images but also vector files. The biggest reason I like vectors is that they can relay a message or a thought without my readers spending all time trying to figure out who the person is. I also like vectors because they can be personalized in so many different ways.

So if you are looking for great images remember to check out Depositphotos!

No More Frump Mom: NuMe Curling Wand

One of the main things (other than weight) that I have been doing to no longer be a "Frump Mom" is making sure that each and every day I get up, take a shower, get dresses, and fix my hair. I do not always put on makeup but I do fix my hair. Some days I straighten it and some days I curl it (as opposed to the frizz that it is naturally.) I have never been that good with curling irons and curlers  tend to make the frizz worst. So I thought I would try a curling wand. I have heard good things about them and wanted to see for myself. So when I contacted NuMe and agreed to work with me I jumped at the chance for a curling wand.

Lucy and Ricky

When Edgar and I got together the first thing my brothers wanted to know if he spoke like Ricky Ricardo. The funny thing is that even though he doesn't (sometimes..he does) we have had plenty of Lucy and Ricky moments over the years. I hunted on You tube to find the ones that would best described some of our moments and wanted to share them with you.

This is the episode when Lucy meets her Mother in-law. While my moment wasn't exactly like this it was very similar. She speaks no English at all and my Spanish is less than perfect.  So this moment was hard on both of us.
